Look Karyn - a very powerful vote!
I don't have a ton of time...I am a baking/food for the week/laundry doing Diva today!
I mentioned yesterday Erika's bachelorette party. It is taking place when we are all in Las Vegas. We have to wear a tacky bridesmaid dress and pink shoes. I offer today for your consideration 2 dresses. Which one should I wear?
The red one cst me $6.50 at Goodwill last weekend!
The pink one is on loan from a friend of Gretchen's.
Well, what do ya think?
Feel free to vote more than once :)
Wait.. are we supposed to pick the one that looks better or the one that looks tackier?
ReplyDeletealmk42 - which ever one you think I need to sashay around Las Vegas!
ReplyDeleteI wish you could have seen the insane bridesmaid dress my friend Kepi wore to Greg's and my remarraige in Las Vegas in 2000. She had this very happy yello polka dress with vast crinolines and a little bolero jacket, with little purple and black zig-zags all over it. Priceless, and also purchased at Goodwill. Why do we ever shop anywhere else? (oops-sorry)
ReplyDeleteThe voting button isn't up yet (I just got your email) so I will just keep talking. When I first looked at these pictures, I thought what the hell is Kel thinking, and just how far back in time does her closet go? I thought why does this dress look so different in the second picture. WTH is going on. Then I bothered to read what you wrote, and now I understand. I think the one on the left is tacky, but the one on the right is worse. However, the one on the left makes you look hotter, in a "you should have seen me in this in 1972 and it still fits!" sort of way, which adds a layer of pathetic, so I vote for that one.
And welcome, btw!
ReplyDeleteI meant to also say that Kepi's bolero jacket had puffy sleeves the size of her head. :)
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with KarynD, the one on the right is tackier but the one on the left (while still pretty tacky) looks better. I think the dress on the left, if done in a saner color, could look pretty respectable! (In a Las Vegas sort of way)
ReplyDeleteAnd what color would that be, almk42? LOL!! I'm glad you added "in a Las Vegas sort of way" - too funny!!
ReplyDeleteHi Kel, I vote for the red one but only if I have to choose one. I'm sure somewhere in my 70 some years it was in style.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely red for Las Vegas. Minnesota, then we would definitely be precious in pink.
ReplyDeleteYou guys kill me!
ReplyDeleteI read Karen's post and quickly logged in I agree with the above comments in that the one on the left looks better on you,....buuuuuut maybe in a different color. I asked my 12 year old son which one he liked better, he said..."erm,...neither" I asked him okay which one do you like least, he said " okay the one one on the right" so I guess I am voting for the one on the right.
ReplyDeleteHope you find a salsa or a mambo to dance to in Vegas. Definitely the one on the left.
ReplyDeleteI agree with all who voted for the one on the left. Both tacky, but the one on the left is more flattering, in that tacky kinda way. Have fun!
ReplyDelete"meaning of life in clothes?" Shows just how shallow you are!
ReplyDeleteI read Karyn's post and had to jump in too! I vote for the one on the left....better to do those high kicks that Kel will have to do when the bachelorettes get up on the stage for a late night sashay-Vegas style. The one on the right just won't do....lritter
ReplyDeleteBoo-whoever "anonymous" is! They are obviously NOT from the Nutrimirror site!
ReplyDeleteFirst off, kritter, absolutely ... Boo to anonymous. There's always one that posts nasty comments == I figure they feel so bad about themselves that they have to tear everyone else down.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I sashayed over here after Karyn's post, too. Sorry, Kel, I have been remiss over the weekend in checking your blog.
My vote is definitely for the red ... for all the reasons everyone else gives. I just wish it were strapless, like the pink one. But, red is definitely the one for Vegas.
Oh, one other thing ... if the red dress wins, I think you should buy some castanets to go along with it. ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt is rather Carmen Miranda or Chiquita Banana, is it not?
ReplyDeleteI am exciting for the outcome! Either way, accessorizing it will be a blast!
Kel, you definitely will have to post pics of that!!! I can hardly wait!!!
ReplyDeleteI am so GLAD the key word was tacky. I was concerned for a moment there!
ReplyDeleteLOL Tart! Hope you enjoyed your weekend of scandal and debauchery!
ReplyDeleteI guess I'm really out of date. I love the RED dress! and I don't think it looks tacky. It looks fabulous on you or you look fabulous in it. I hope you have a great time in LV.
ReplyDeleteI was bad! It was great :-)
ReplyDeleteIf your going for tacky i'd say the one on the right. The pink one :)
ReplyDeleteKel, it's hard, because you make those dressed look fantastic! But since we are talking Vegas here I vote for RED! :o)
ReplyDeleteI vote for RED - because you look red hot in it!
ReplyDeleteI vote for the red one too!!
ReplyDeleteGuess I am out of touch, also. I thought the red dress looked stunning on you-not tacky at all. I voted for the pink dress because it looks tacky as a dress but you still make it rock!!
ReplyDeleteYou know what's really shallow? Posting anonymously on a blog that the topic is shallow. Why come here at all if you feel that way? Here's one you might enjoy: www.stickupmyass.com
ReplyDeleteOMG, Karyn! LMAO. That is SOOOO funny. Thanks for starting my day off on a good note.
ReplyDeleteI like the one on the left.
ReplyDeleteI'd go with red all the way!! Congrats on your Glamour interview!!! Jessica a/k/a Blazin'
ReplyDelete"We have to wear a tacky bridesmaid dress and pink shoes. Which one should I wear?"
ReplyDeleteIf it's tacky you need, then tacky I must choose; go with the Red! The slit on the side, ruffles, and shirring through the hips and waist are just too Flamingo to be taken serious. The pink dress is simply sad.
What a fun bachelorette party this will be.
I actually really don't like the red one, but I do love the pink one. The red dress looks exactly like a homecoming dress a classmate might have worn in high school, which wasn't that long ago for me! The pink one, however, is amazing.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree that while they both fit the bill for tacky, the red one is more flattering and the pink one is especially, um, dated!
ReplyDeleteThe pink dress!! This blog is going to be fun. Just what I need to inspire me to cut down on my purchases.
ReplyDeleteI gotta vote for the pink one! It just looks really fun. Of course they both look fabulous on you!
ReplyDeleteThe red dress definitely complements your figure the most, but if you're going for tacky, definitely wear the pink.
