It's Casual Friday!

I really love Fridays! I do believe Friday is my favorite day of the week!

Welcome to Naughty Monkeys #2! This is the pair I wore on my second date with Ben. The story behind the Monkeys is that one day I decided to ride my bike (the motorcycle version, not the other) into Stillwater. Stillwater is full of quant little shops. I brought only a backpack. I figured if I only had a backpack, I could not buy a lot. WRONG! I managed to shove 2 pairs of shoes (both Naughty Monkeys), 2 dresses and 2 shirts in that backpack! I love these shoes! For the record, www.endless.com carries Naughty Monkeys. They tend to run about 1/2 size too big. Endless has free shipping, and overnight shipping too!

The shirt and jeans are from from Off-Saks. They were purchased separately. The shirt goes well with a business skirt or more casual bottom, as today. As KarynD said about yesterday, today was business on the top and party on the bottom! The jeans are "skinny" jeans. I bought them about 4 months ago when Ben and I were celebrating our anniversary weekend. They are Hudson brand, and I do like their fit. Spandex is a good thing! I also have a pair that are boot cut, and the pocket placement on the butt-ocks is perfect! (When I say bott-ocks, I like to emphasize the syllable with the -ocks. Weird, huh?)

A question I need to ask, and I thought of it as I was doing my morning routine. What kind of cruel, sick joke is it that after I put on all of my anti-wrinkle goop I need to do acne patrol and put on blemish treatment? I am 43 years old for goodness sake - enough with the acne!

I mentioned the Revlon colorstay lipstick the other day. I now have 3 shades! I think I am covered now - a red, nude, and a mauve shade. I need to use baby oil to take it off at night. It really does last all day!

As for loving Fridays, they are often a date night for Ben and I. I love balance in my life, and working hard at work followed by a nice relaxing evening is great for balance!

Other examples of balance? My food - visit that at www.nutrimirror.com! You will see lots of balance there, right everyone?
My makeup - if I wear bold lipstick, I do minimal eyes. Bold eyes - you got it - minimal lips.
Skinny jeans - billowy top. If I had my bootcut Hudsons on, it would be all about the tight shirt.
Bold shoes - simpler outfit. Loud outfit - a more understated shoe. Got it?

I am looking forward to an unscheduled weekend. The only planned activities are:
exercise...grocery shoppng...online classes...logging (at nutrimirror) and blogging!

Hope you have some relaxation planned too!

I am keeping this outfit. No votes needed! So, instead, today is a question!

If you could take one piece of clothing with you before the fire took your house, what would it be? (and, for the sake of this question, we are going to assume you got your spouse, kids, pets and all of your favorite photos out too!)

I look forward to your answers.

Thanks for a great first week in blog world!

xo

  1. Kel, I love the tips for dressing! I am going to need them when I reach maintenance and start buying real clothes (not temporary ones). Your question is really hard!! I think I would have to say my summer nightgown, a pale sage green light cotton long number that feels like you are wearing nothing. This is provided of course that I am not naked when the fire comes; I would hope to be wearing my new jeans and my favorite little t-shirty top and I would grab the nightgown as the hunky fireman carry me out of the house. :)

  3. Oh Karyn - I love it!!

I should have answered - I would grab my Betsey Johnson shoes that I snared Ben with - then I would make him get my Dolce and Gabbana black dress! No one said he couldn't save my clothes too!

  5. At this point in the game I'd let it all burn and buy a new wardrobe with the insurance money...since this is hypothetical, we have renter's insurance. ;)

Girlfriend I am about 6 months older than you and this morning I woke up with a pretty knarly one on the side of my nose. I know Halloween is around the corner but I DO NOT want to go as the WICKED WITCH!!!

Okay, as for your question I am going to have to say "MY BRA" I do not like to go even out of my bedroom braless!!! As for the rest of the stuff I am going to agree with carrieredhead, "LET IT ALL BURN" and I can buy a whole new wardrobe with the insurance money!!!
